Tech Priorities 2021 (4): How megatrends are shaping a world of platforms

Current and future business dynamics are heavily impacted by the pandemic and often related megatrends. Transformation of the end-to-end digital operations is a prerequisite for sustainable business in the post-crisis reality.

In the new Leading Lights Boardroom season, the focus is strongly on IT priorities for 2021: the things that CIOs and IT decision makers really need to tackle in order to create business value. In each session we will show real-life IT projects that create value in the long term – through optimization of resources, competencies and technology.

In the fourth session it’s all about the turning point for end-to-end digital operations and platforms. This virtual meeting will be introduced by Bart Kerkhofs, Director IT Service & Operation EMIA at Bridgestone and hosted by Joris van Oers, MD Resources, Logistics and Manufacturing & Europe at BT’s Global unit.

Bridgestone’s world of platforms

Bridgestone is a company with more than 21.000 employees in the EMIA region. In addition to its premium tyre products Bridgestone offers a growing portfolio of tyre-centric and mobility solutions to service customers in an extensive retail network with thousands of touchpoints. Over 1 million connected vehicles are connected via their Webfleet mobility solutions.

During this session Bart Kerkhofs will elaborate on Bridgestone’s recently announced “Vision of Mobility”. The Bridgestone mobility eco-system is a world of platforms, of fleets, of tyres, of data. To address the massive market changes – such as Mobility as a Solution and connected vehicles in smart cities –  Bridgestone is evolving its business and operating models to provide value for society and to its customers. Bridgestone is revamping its business by co-creating with partners and connecting to mobility platforms.

Other sessions
