Tech Priorities 2021 (1): Seeing the bigger picture of end-to-end supply chains

Industry 4.0 won’t get anywhere without a solid IT foundation, so how do you bridge the gap between IT and OT?  How do you build trust between global and local strategies? A well-oiled organization and a tailor-made, future-proof and converged IT/OT landscape form the basis for generating business value. In the first of a series of Leading Lights Boardroom sessions, it’s all about seeing the bigger picture of end-to-end supply chains. This virtual meeting will be introduced by Norbert Pinske, Nestlé SA’s former Global Head of IT Solutions.

In the new Leading Lights Boardroom season, the focus is strongly on IT priorities for 2021: the things that CIOs and IT decision makers really need to tackle in order to create business value. In each session we will show real-life IT projects that create value in the long term – through optimization of resources, competencies and technology.

Maximizing value

Norbert Pinske was responsible throughout his career at Nestlé for maximizing IT value for all businesses and production sites within the company. To this end, he led the improvement of business processes, global system implementations, introduction of master data management and optimization of the infrastructure in various roles.

He has managed 600 employees and 2,000 externals worldwide and was known as an inspiring leader with an eye for talent. In 2018, Norbert Pinske took over the newly established Workforce 360 unit within Nestlé Information Technology. This unit brings together all the products and services that people within Nestlé need to be successful, efficient and engaged.

In 2020 he founded his own company as an IT Consultant for Industry Partners, where he coaches and advises companies on digital transformation and information technology.

Upcoming sessions

After zooming in on (or rather ‘out of’) the bigger picture, upcoming meetings will tackle topics such as customer experience transformation, future-proof infrastructures and end-to-end optimisation of digital operations,  with guest speakers from Diebold Nixdorf, Yara International and Bridgestone.
